The Beginning
At some point in our life we have all ran across an article
that states the benefits of herbs. Be it aroma therapy, health, a favorite
recipe or even luck -herbs are an ancient and time-honored tradition in some
way in almost every household.
The purpose of this blog is to embark on a learning path to
the alternative. A path I am taking myself. My mom is an herbalist, and I grew
up in a small northern California town where I frequented shops like Rosemary's
Garden to seek a cure for what ailed me.
While I had all this exposure, I really knew little about
the true holistic benefits of herbs. I never realized its importance in my life
until I moved to Montana where the availability of information and access to
herbs was minimal. As I begin my journey of self-education in to the holistic
benefits of herbs from meditation to teas, I hope you will join me. I know I
cannot be the only person who wishes they knew more and want to change their
health and wellbeing.
If you are thinking you will never be able to do this,
please don’t tell yourself that (I am speaking to myself here as well). I have
given up on things for myself my entire life, I am not going to give up on
myself now.
I am 48, I am a single parent of twin 6year old boys and a 28-year-old.
I also have a granddaughter who turns 2 in July. This is as much for them as it
is for me. I want o to be around a lot more years, and to do that I need to
adopt new habits for food, stress, and health in general. Part of that is
needing to drop about 20 pounds.
my first step in transformation is this blog. Also, I have committed to smudging with sage (for spiritual cleansing) in the morning, and drinking a homemade lavender tea(promotes relaxation)at night. The next is a 21 day detox, I'll be posting more about this shortly.
